Promotional Trade Show Videos

This client requested the creation of a few shorter videos to display during their annual trade show.

Goal: Create short videos for a trade show that adequately depicted the company’s software.

Since these videos were for a trade show, they had a strict deadline allowing 1.5 months for everything from storyboarding to production. I had the privilege to work alongside a talented motion graphics designer who brought my visions to life. Although I did not do the designing, I storyboarded each video and provided edits for revision. Each video responded to various pain points of the target audience that affected them daily.

Process: Crafted a story about the company’s software through visuals.

This project had its own unique set of challenges since the client did not have extensive branding established beforehand. For example, they wanted a "villain" and "hero" for these videos to engagingly tell a story all while ensuring it is directed at their target audience.

Another challenge was omitting voice overs for the trade show videos. We designed them to be flashy visually and have interesting sound effects so that they would capture the attention of people walking by. Consequently, there was more emphasis on the storyboarding to create a cohesive and attractive storyline.

Results: Learned that words are not always necessary for strong storytelling skills.

The client was happy with the degree of creativity in each video that supplemented their booth at the trade show.

Browse the videos to explore their creative angles.
